Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Specialist to join our team at the Department of the Navy. As a Principal Technical Advisor, you will serve as the technical advisor to the CIO and program resource sponsor for the technical assessment, development, delivery, operations, and support of the full range of Information Technology (IT).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical policy direction, support, and guidance to matrixed staff pertaining to issues in the technology operations and development efforts.
  • Resolve problems associated with diverse IT programs and make decisions on controversial technical issues cutting across organizational lines.
  • Coordinate with Department of Defense, Services, and Components senior technical leadership to ensure a common understanding, resolution, and implementation of technology programs and issues.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, hold discussions, and make commitments relative to mission matters to higher-level officials.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Males born after must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position.
  • You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M for specialty area 752 level XX within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Expertise in developing and executing IT policies and standards for enterprise-wide Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • Advising senior leadership on IT strategy and planning initiatives to meet mission requirements.
  • Integrating complex SAP IT networks within DoD, DON, or other Federal agencies.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving.
