Electrical Superintendent Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead our teams and support projects in the Industrial and Water market. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising electrical operations/installations on self-performed construction projects, providing oversight and training, and ensuring daily inspections of work performed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the electrical scope of a project, managing foremen and electrical craft workers, and ensuring productivity, safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Liaise between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance with construction drawings and specifications, and address engineering challenges that occur during construction.
  • Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents, subcontractors, outside inspection companies, clients, and Kiewit staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
  • Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate.
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
  • Ensure project rules, procedures, and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards.
  • Establish budgetary guidelines for the job and ensure that cost control measures are being followed.
  • Provide job safety training and awareness for all personnel.
  • Establish quality standards of all jobs and ensure that all quality assurance and company standards are being met.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' work experience in the self-perform construction industry, with at least 3+ years in a Superintendent role.
  • Understanding of state license requirements for journeymen to apprentice ratios necessary to perform electrical work in a particular state.
  • 3+ years previous knowledge and work experience within electrical construction.
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines: safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, procurement, estimating.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative; great leadership skills with the ability to mentor and grow our employees.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
