Job Summary

This role performs a variety of laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and result calculation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory instrumentation and equipment, as well as excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complicated laboratory procedures, including specimen processing and testing.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Calculate, enter, and verify results of laboratory procedures.
  • Provide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values.
  • Process patient specimens, including collection, handling, and distribution.
  • Participate in the evaluation, development, and implementation of new or updated testing procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
  • One year of approved clinical laboratory experience, including a clinical rotation through various laboratory sections.
  • Certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS.
