Job Summary

The Inside Sales Engineer will be responsible for executing prospecting activities and providing internal sales coverage for an assigned sales territory. This role will work closely with the Fields Sales Engineer, Business Development Team, and Regional Sales Manager to achieve sales goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect for potential new customers and turn them into sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts independently or based on specific targets generated by Aerotech's Business Development team.
  • Follow up on active leads generated by marketing activities and determine whether to handle directly or pass to the appropriate Field Sales Engineer based on predefined criteria.
  • Obtain initial information needed to make a business case for a new opportunity, including customer budget, customer need, decision-making authority, and timeline.
  • Effectively understand and respond to customer inquiries and objections.
  • Provide sales support, including answering product-related questions, providing initial pricing on standard products, and lead time information for designated opportunities.
  • Create quotations through Aerotech's dedicated quote module or alternative specified method for individually generated opportunities and opportunities generated by a Field Sales Engineer.
  • Proactively uncover opportunities for spare and replacement parts by reviewing past customer lists and have sole ownership for these opportunities and potential orders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university, with a focus on mechatronics and/or robotics preferred.
  • Zero to two years of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, short-term, domestically.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
