Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will be offered an annual salary of approximately $95,000 - $120,000, depending on experience, along with an annual bonus of up to 7.5% of their salary. About the Role

The Business Development Manager – USA is responsible for end-to-end business winning activity to support the North American Integrated Product Support software and services offering. This role involves proactive 'hunting' for business opportunities and pursuing and closing them using solution selling and trusted partner techniques.


Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage regional customer accounts, including strategic partnerships, new opportunities, upgrades, maintenance, and support.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of North American markets and maintain close liaison with all sources of pertinent business knowledge.
  • Work with the marketing team to identify symposia and exhibitions that increase Pennant's visibility in the marketplace and contribute to business growth.
  • Monitor tender opportunities and ensure that the Company is included on lists of suppliers to receive invitations to tender.
  • Coordinate with Support teams on customer requests that require Sales input.
  • Populate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and sales pipeline tool.
  • Work with the Head of IPS & Strategic Development to develop market growth strategies that deliver annual business growth targets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be suitable for this role, you will have the following skills:

  • Demonstrable competence of Solution Selling and development of Trusted Partnerships.
  • Demonstrable evidence of a network within defense consultancy.
  • Tenacity to see complex projects through to successful completion.
  • Leadership and organizational abilities.

Along with the below qualifications and experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent suitable experience in a relevant field.
  • Trained in the production of business winning proposals (Shipley or Miller Heiman).
  • Conversant with at least one of the leading CRM tools.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Experience in developing support engineering task and project solutions in collaboration with support engineering practitioners.
  • Understanding of support engineering requirements at all stages of the product life cycle.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer facing consultancy skills.

Location and Travel

This role is based on the East Coast, preferably around Boston Massachusetts, but may involve travel to customers across the US and Group offices in the UK, Canada, or Australia as required. To comply with ITAR regulations, you must be a US Citizen to apply for this role.
