This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, C. M. Tucker Nursing Care Center Campus, 2200 Harden Street, Columbia, SC.

Job Description:

">
  • Performs and assists residents with personal cleanliness and hygiene (ADL's).
  • Feeds and assists residents with meals, snacks, and supplements.
  • Observes, reports, and documents any changes in residents' condition and/or behavior.
  • Participates in restorative therapies according to care plan and individual needs.
  • Assists in guiding and helping residents by working with them in groups and individually, by planning and conducting group meetings, encouraging communication, self-esteem and socialization.
  • Prepares and accompanies residents off the unit to clinics/MD visits and activities.
  • Performs nursing procedures and care per nursing policies. Assists the nurse and doctor with treatments and examinations.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Must hold credentials as a certified nursing assistant.

Estimated Salary: $36,185.00 - $60,471.00 annually.

The selected candidate must have knowledge of assistive nursing procedures, sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health safety practices, and human anatomy.

Ability to maintain attention to detail, make accurate technical and physical observations pf patients, accurately communicate and record observations, carefully read and follow directions, work a flexible schedule, and work in a team environment.
