Job Title: Adjunct Professor of Law

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor of Law to join our team at William & Mary Law School. As an Adjunct Professor, you will have the opportunity to teach one or more courses within our Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Master of Laws (LL.M) residential programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and teach courses, facilitating course activities and providing students with timely feedback.
  • Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner and submit final grades according to William & Mary policy.
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours and offer weekly office hours for individual or group consultation.
  • Maintain frequent and open communication with William & Mary faculty and staff through email, mail, telephone, and other mediums.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree, Juris Doctor or equivalent, or other graduate degree directly related to the discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Expertise and relevant professional and/or instructional experience in general law education, Business Law, Criminal Law & Procedure, Environmental Law, Intellectual Property, International Law, National Security Law, Public Interest and Social Justice, or Political Law.
  • Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Other doctoral degree directly related to the discipline.
  • Previous experience providing instruction to adult learners in an academic or corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • Previous teaching experience at the graduate level.
  • Computer proficiency and experience using Blackboard or other online learning platforms.

This is a part-time position paid semi-monthly over the term of the course. This position is not benefit-eligible. The position is restricted to a specified term.
