Cancer Treatment Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cancer Treatment Specialist to join our team at CHI Health St. Elizabeth.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the field of radiation therapy, where you will play a crucial role in the treatment of cancer patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients, verify their identity, and review charts for proper treatment parameters and physician prescriptions
  • Inform patients and families about the treatment process and answer questions
  • Prepare patients for treatment, position equipment according to plan, and take portal films or IGRT scans
  • Verify proper dosage of ionizing radiation, administer treatment, and monitor patient throughout the process
  • Record each patient's treatment in the EMR and maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field
  • Construct immobilization devices, position and mark patients during simulation, and participate in quality meetings

Requirements:

  • Satisfactory completion of a JRCERT accredited Radiation Therapy Program
  • ARRT (T) boards completion within 6 months of hire
  • BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of linear accelerators and record and verify systems
  • Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment and manage patients
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
