Financial Counselor

Join Coffee Regional Medical Center as a Financial Counselor, responsible for registering patients, managing financial services, and ensuring accurate billing and precertification processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Register patients in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all necessary information is collected and documented.
• Manage patient financial services, including collecting estimated patient liability, co-pays, and deductibles.
• Verify patient and guarantor information, ensuring accurate identification and updating of patient records.
• Identify third-party payor coverage, secure prior authorizations, referrals, and notifications, and precertification requirements prior to patient admission.
• Ensure accurate and complete medical records, financial forms, and patient admission to nursing or ancillary units.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Vocational-tech/college preferred.
• CPAR/CFC Certification preferred.
• 3+ years of previous hospital/medical office experience, with knowledge of third-party payers, billing requirements, and reimbursement methods.

Working Conditions:

• Must be flexible to work in different areas and locations as needed.
• Available to come in at short notice and maintain an on-call rotation.
