Final Trailer Inspector

Job Summary

The Final Trailer Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all trailers and components meet the quality standards and specifications of Felling Trailers and its customers. This role involves inspecting trailers prior to release for shipping, using a quality checklist to verify compliance with specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect trailers using sales copy and blueprints to review and inspect individual characteristics.
• Release trailers to be shipped and affix a final inspection decal when they pass inspection.
• Coordinate repairs to trailers that do not pass inspection or send them back to the production area.
• Complete non-conformance reports and work with supervisors and production employees to correct quality deficiencies.
• Inspect defective fabricated parts and determine if they should be re-worked or scrapped.
• Document scrapped parts for scheduling and accounting.
• Conduct tests on air brake systems and inspect repairs with warranty problems to ensure they are resolved.
• Inspect outsourced parts to determine if they meet specifications.
• Inspect trailers and components in process with quality problems and document all trailer inspections.
