Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the entire operation of a nursing unit, ensuring high-quality care and meeting resident needs.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues.
  • Manage area of responsibility, achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.
  • Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote staff recruitment, retention, development, and continuing education.
  • Collaborate with physicians to ensure timely and appropriate interventions.
  • Review staffing patterns and census, reassigning personnel as needed to meet resident needs and budgetary controls.
  • Monitor clinical operations, resident conditions, and ensure quality care is administered.
  • Obtain medications, supplies, and medical records needed to provide safe, efficient, and therapeutic care.
  • Assist in the orientation of new personnel, monitor their skills, and guide staff members who need assistance.
  • Participate in facility QA program.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, degree preferred.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) (if state requires).
  • Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable.
  • Three years of nursing experience, with one year in a long-term care environment.
