**Job Overview**
Amazon's Legal Department is seeking a talented lawyer to support Amazon Web Services, a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, and more.
This AWS Cloud Counsel will primarily support our Data Center Operations team in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), responsible for operating, physically securing, maintaining, and logistics of AWS data centers.
The role involves working directly with business and stakeholder teams to provide day-to-day counseling, contribute to projects, negotiate contracts, and address vendor issues. As counsel supporting a large international organization, this lawyer must be adept at synthesizing legal requirements across multiple jurisdictions and providing risk-calibrated solutions.
The ideal candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
Basic Qualifications
- Significant post-qualification legal experience gathered in-house or in private practice, with a minimum of 5+ years post qualification experience.
- Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services, or equivalent.
- Experience working in-house at a technology or internet company.
- Ability to work independently while contributing successfully to cross-functional teams.
We estimate the annual salary for this position to be around £120,000 - £180,000, depending on location and experience.
