Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Norwalk Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Physical Assessment: Conduct thorough physical assessments of patients upon admission and throughout their stay, documenting findings and developing individualized plans of care.
  • Medication Administration: Safely administer medications, adhering to hospital policies and procedures, and educating patients and families on medication management.
  • Patient Safety: Identify potential safety risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them, promoting a culture of safety within the unit.
  • Patient Education: Assess learning needs and develop plans to educate patients and families on self-care and disease management.
  • Leadership: Demonstrate leadership skills, assuming charge nurse responsibilities and mentoring new staff members.
Requirements
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut
  • Minimum experience: 0-6 months
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) certification within 3 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • American Heart Association (AHA) certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS)
  • Experience working in a similar acute care setting
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, rotating shifts as needed, with every other weekend required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
