We are seeking a talented Energy Engineer to join our Hawai'i Energy program team, dedicated to empowering our community to achieve the state's clean energy goals.

About Us

Leidos, a leader in delivering innovative solutions, is administering the Hawai'i Energy program under a contract with the Hawai'i Public Utilities Commission. Our mission is to empower island families and businesses to make smart energy choices, educating them about the lasting benefits of clean energy.

Challenge

The successful candidate will have a strong grasp of Engineering fundamentals in mechanical and electrical equipment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for optimizing energy consumption for commercial customers. They will work under the guidance of the Technical Services & Engineering Manager and/or other staff to:

  • Review energy efficiency calculations and energy models for commercial projects
  • Perform data acquisition and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyze billing and utility data using linear and multivariable regression models
  • Provide energy advising customized for commercial customers
  • Conduct building energy audits to identify major energy consumption areas and optimize building operation, lighting, controls, and HVAC equipment operation
  • Write technical summaries and briefs for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Develop educational material for building owners and the design and construction communities
  • Develop and review measurement and verification (M&V) plans, perform M&V activities, and analyze data to determine savings and costs of energy projects
  • Research and develop prescriptive savings measures for emerging energy efficiency technologies
What Sets You Apart

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with two plus years of professional experience in engineering, technical project management, or related areas
  • Proficiency in analytical programming language (R, Python) as well as SQL
  • Strong technical, quantitative, and analytic capabilities, including technical report writing and advanced spreadsheet development/analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within cross-functional teams
