AARP is seeking a highly skilled Policy and Research Manager to join our team in the Longevity Economy department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in positioning AARP as the leading authority on the economic value of the 50+ population and the opportunity to create age-inclusive societies.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and work with cross-functional teams to identify the organization's public policy priorities and position.
- Build and leverage external relationships to achieve results.
- Analyze federal and state legislative and regulatory proposals and provide objective policy analysis to inform national and state debates and the organization's position and engagement.
- Conduct policy research and analysis to identify opportunities and develop solutions for internal and external audiences.
- Write reports and recommendations that demonstrate thought leadership and support enterprise objectives.
- Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Business, Mathematics, Political Science, or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Fluent in the use of data and metrics to explain current trends of global economics, with an emphasis on understanding how market segments and demographics can influence macro-trends.
- Proven ability to quickly understand and interpret strategic issues and directions.
- Ability to collect and analyze information and to edit, write, and speak clearly and persuasively.
