About the Role:

  • This part-time position involves working 24 hours on day shifts, with weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • As an Oncology Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting physicians while providing top-notch treatment to patients with various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and report patient information and data
  • Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing, dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation
  • Patient Transport
  • Collection of specimens
  • Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms
  • Deliver ice and beverages to patients
  • Staying with at-risk patients to monitor their safety, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; preferred education includes a Connecticut-approved Nurse Aide Training Program or a BA in Nursing/Health Sciences with clinical experience
  • Proof of college transcript required; significant nurse assistant/healthcare-related experience also accepted
  • Certification: BLS certification necessary
  • Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred
  • Able to pass drug screening and background check
