Job Title: Sous Chef

Join Morrison Healthcare as a Sous Chef and take on a key role in the successful operation of our Culinary Department. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing cost controls, planning and creating menus, and producing and executing catering events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and creating menus that meet the needs of our clients
  • Produce and execute catering events that exceed client expectations
  • Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team

Requirements:

  • A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field
  • Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
  • Catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
