Project Manager

Kitchell is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to support the execution of Construction Management Services for a K-12 education market sector capital project and modernization program.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of the scope and interdependence of all contract documents.
- Observe and record jobsite activity in accordance with required contractual frequency.
- Manage effective document control mechanisms for the project to ensure that work is performed in accordance with contract documents.
- Evaluate change order requests, including design changes, specifications, and drawing releases, and report status.
- Review and process as-built drawings to ensure that all changes during the course of construction are recorded.
- Assist the project manager in the maintenance of the project schedule and cost control mechanisms.
- Coordinate meeting agendas, prepare minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Utilize safe work practices and follow directives, policies, and procedures for assisting and maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.
- Maintain effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture is preferred.
- 2 or more years of related work experience in construction is required.
- Knowledge of construction and engineering-related processes, as well as industry practices, is required.
- Prior experience in the California Public Education Market sector is preferred.
- Knowledge of the roles and interdependence between the contractor, designer, owner, and construction manager is required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships, is required.
- Proficient with the MS Suite of tools, with exposure to other construction-specific software like Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Procore, and/or BIM tools, is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and blueprints is needed.
Work Environment
This position is site-based at the client location in the city of San Francisco, CA. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and/or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Have the ability to manage a commute regionally as project site change.
