Job Summary

As a Sterile Processing Manager at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, you will be responsible for leading the Sterile Processing Department in developing goals and objectives that align with organizational values. You will oversee the development of policies that affect the sterilization processes of perioperative and clinic areas, assess operating and capital expenditure budgets to ensure they meet approved requirements, and monitor and establish processes to ensure that all practices of the Sterile Processing Department are within established guidelines of regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage central sterile processing and endoscopy technician specialist staff to ensure department and hospital guidelines are adhered to and followed.
  • Assist and conduct written and final performance conversations with staff following departmental and institutional policies.
  • Monitor quality assurance standards, programs, and procedures within the unit/area.
  • Develop goals and objectives for Central Sterile Processing based on interpretation of the policy and goals of Perioperative and Procedural Services.
  • Ensure the most effective operations of Central Sterile Processing through program development, process improvement, and coordination/integration of processes within Perioperative and Procedural Services and other departments.
  • Serve as an operational coordinator of Sterile Processing activities for all Perioperative and clinic areas.
  • Review departmental finances to meet institutional standards.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred. 3-5 years of leadership experience in a sterile processing environment preferred. Hospital experience preferred, but will consider surgery center experience. Certifications: CRCST, CIS, CER, or ability to achieve. Experience with DaVinci equipment. Exceptional communication skills. Core hours day shift, but must be available for 24/7 operations.
