About the Role

The George Washington University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with physicians and healthcare professionals to provide expert care for patients with chronic and acute wounds.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive wound management plans for patients with complex wound needs.
Conduct thorough assessments to identify underlying causes of wounds and develop evidence-based treatment strategies.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
Educate patients and families on wound prevention and care techniques to promote optimal healing and prevent complications.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed to inform treatment decisions.
Prioritize patient safety and well-being by following established protocols and guidelines for wound care.

Requirements

Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program from an accredited institution.
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in wound care.
D.C. licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with diverse teams and populations.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
