ROLE:
Medical Laboratory Technicians are sought after by HeroCare to work in various locations across the United States. This contract opportunity is for Medical Laboratory Technicians with a proven track record of providing high-quality laboratory services.

As we expand our staffing services, we're excited to offer new contract opportunities for Medical Laboratory Technicians. Our team is dedicated to providing our professionals with the support and resources they need to succeed in their roles.

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:

  • Must be licensed as a Medical Laboratory Technician in good standing with the New Mexico State Society American Medical Technologists and hold licensure through the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in phlebotomy is necessary.
  • A hospital pre-employment background check must be renewed within the year.
  • Professional Liability Insurance is mandatory.

MANDATORY SKILLS & ABILITY:
1. High level of proficiency with Microsoft office applications and hospital software applications is required. 2. Ability to think critically and multitask in a high-pressure situation is essential. 3. Ability to organize and manage an office setting and work with all team members is necessary. 4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member, establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team, and exercise judgment by participating in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care according to standards is required. 5. Behavior consistent with the hospital's Standards of Performance is expected.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs according to the Standards of Professional Practice set out by the New Mexico State Society AMT and in compliance with the policies, procedures and standards of the facility. 2. Accepts clinical responsibility and professional accountability for the care delivered to assigned patients. 3. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, fulfilling responsibilities as a member of the nursing discipline. 4. Complies with The Ethical Framework for Technicians. 5. Carries out all work assignments safely and is knowledgeable of and in compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations, as well as other legislation as applicable.
