About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automotive Repair Technician to join our team at CarMax. As an integral part of our operations, you will be responsible for ensuring every vehicle that leaves our lot is in pristine condition and ready for our customers.

Your primary focus will be on diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning vehicles to meet our exceptionally high standards. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for precision, you will work collaboratively with our team to deliver exceptional results while continually enhancing your technical skills through training and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspection and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough inspections to identify areas requiring repair or replacement, utilizing industry-leading diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Repair and Reconditioning: Perform high-quality repairs and reconditioning services on various domestic and foreign vehicles, adhering to our rigorous safety and performance standards.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work meets our strict quality control standards, collaborating with colleagues to resolve any issues or concerns.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, heating and air conditioning, and other related areas.
  • ASE Certifications: Possess ASE certifications in relevant areas, such as Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7), Electrical (A6), Engine Repair (A1), Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3), Engine Performance (A8), and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2).
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and provide clear explanations to customers.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, stand, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
