Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician - Psychiatrist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Service, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to our veteran patients, working closely with multidisciplinary staff to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with behavioral health problems.
  • Provide a wide range of psychiatric services, including individual and group psychotherapy, medication management, and behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in psychiatric care, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry or eligibility for board certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
