Documentation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Documentation Engineer to join our Construction Services Department based out of our Peoria, IL office.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and coordinate the preparation of project documentation, including engineering drawings, production specifications, and schedules, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.
- Review contracts to determine documentation required for each phase of the project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
- Schedule due dates for drawings, specifications, software, and other documents.
- Monitor the status of projects to ensure documentation is submitted according to schedule.
- Review and verify project documents for completeness, format, and compliance with contract requirements.
- Submit project documentation to management for approval and transmit approved documents to clients.
- Confer with engineers, managers, customers, and others to discuss projects, prepare documents, or modify contract schedules.
- Serve as the liaison with clients and project managers on project matters.
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, standards, and details.
- Read and interpret material QC/QA manuals.
- Maintain accurate databases for all collected data in the client's required method and format.
- Use required software for documentation of construction, as required by clients.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in the construction engineering/inspection industry.
- Valid driver's license (required).
- Applicable training and certifications related to construction management.
- Computer skills and knowledge in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Schedule, and other Windows-based software (ICORS and MISTIC preferred).
- The ability to exercise good judgment.
- The ability to effectively present recommendations and results.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
