Job Description
We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work on a variety of heavy machinery and equipment, following all safety guidelines and job specifications to ensure projects are completed both safely and on time. The ideal candidate has all certificate(s) or degree from a trade school, technical college or apprenticeship program, works well in a team environment, and maintains the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager with equipment updates, defects or issues
  • Safely operate a variety of large, heavy machinery safely, such as excavators, loaders, dozers, and more
  • Good manual dexterity, problem-solving abilities
  • Inspecting heavy equipment for proper performance and detect faults and malfunctions
  • Cleaning and lubricating equipment and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery
  • Work closely with the rest of the team on each project to ensure success


Qualifications:
  • Must have a thorough understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronics
  • Must be skilled in diagnosing problems, troubleshooting, performing repairs and maintenance of heavy equipment
  • Must hold or obtain the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) certification for surrounding mines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work well within a team environment
