At Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Plainview, Texas, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.

Job Summary

The Mental Health Assistant will work closely with our licensed nursing staff to provide exceptional patient care and support. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to assigned patients, ensuring their activities of daily living are met.
  • Assist with providing a therapeutic safe environment for patients, including supervision during staff break periods.
  • Communicate identified findings observed with patients to licensed nursing staff.
  • Aid other staff in patient chart production, meal provision, and answering telephones.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Experience working as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Mental Health Technician.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eligibility to work in the State of Texas as a Nursing Assistant (preferably Certified) or Health Technician.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we offer shift differential for nights and weekends, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
