The OpportunityWe're looking for a Travel Radiology Technologist to work in the Healthcare Systems and Services industry in Danville, Pennsylvania, United States. As an X-Ray Technologist, you'll have the opportunity to work with industry experts, receive ongoing training and education, and contribute to the development of innovative imaging, diagnostic, and therapies products.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures on patients of all ages to assist in the diagnosis of patient illness.
- Locate and record internal elements of the body, and identify any anomalies indicative of disease, injury, or other medically significant conditions.
- Adjust equipment and calm patients to eliminate test artifacts.
- Monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes.
- Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy.
- Review tests with peers and physicians.
- Inform physicians of preliminary findings as requested.
- Distribute completed test results to physicians and service providers.
- Prepare diagnostic information for physician interpretation.
- Maintain patient charts, enter diagnosis and billing codes, log data into patient information systems, and update file systems for tests performed.
- Clean and sterilize equipment and work space.
- Recognize equipment malfunctions and readjust equipment or write referrals for repair.
- Instruct patients in pretest preparation, answer questions, and explain procedures.
- Comply with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain equipment according to Infection Control procedure.
- Maintain technical competency through continued education and participation in training programs.
- Administer contrast agents according to site-specific protocols.
- Maintain current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
- Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems.
- Make calls for service and notify all pertinent team members.
- Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting, specifically in ER, OR, Trauma, and Portables.
- Valid ARRT license, registered in Radiography.
- Valid CPR certificate.
- State license (will consider candidates without this, if willing to obtain).
