Job Description

">

As a Registered Nurse, you will work alongside our Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff to provide nursing care to inmates/detainees while maintaining a safe and secure workplace. Your responsibilities will include administering medication, providing patient education, and supervising the workflow of LPN staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medication and take precautions against drug hoarding and trafficking">
  • Securely store and manage medication supplies">
  • Provide patient education on chronic illnesses, post-hospitalization, and post-surgical procedures">
  • Supervise the workflow of LPN staff and provide input into performance evaluations">
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records">
  • Foster a culture of safety and security within the facility">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

To be successful in this role, you must have a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state where the facility is located. You should also possess at least two years of direct work experience, with competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, medical nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care.

Physical Requirements

">

This position requires frequent lifting or carrying of up to 40 pounds, as well as occasional lifting or carrying of up to 60 pounds. You must also be able to work without direct supervision and provide appropriate follow-through treatment.
