About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Technician 2 to join our team at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Unit, you will provide direct care to patients with routine, standardized, and predictable outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include assisting unit leadership with education needs, collaborating with the Registered Nurse and healthcare team to advocate for patients' clinical, emotional, ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs. You will also provide individualized patient support for activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, bed making, and measurement of vital signs and intake/output.

In addition, you will serve as a resource and unit preceptor for all new Mental Health Technicians, working with unit leadership to ensure current competencies and skills.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Mental Health Technician 1 or Clinical Technician 1 at Inova Health System and/or two years as psychiatric technician at another facility.
  • High School or GED
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association.
