We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Specialist to join our team at Thrive Behavioral Health in Warwick, RI.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that requires providing school-based support to Special Education Teachers and students with behavioral and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with special education teachers to monitor classroom behavior and support students in completing assignments and achieving academic goals.
  • Work directly with students to provide behavioral support and follow established behavior management plans.
  • Maintain daily records of student behavioral points and collect data to monitor program efficacy.
  • Teach academic lessons as assigned.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support staff and students in safety-related incidents.
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate observations and student outcomes.

Additional Requirements:

  • Attend agency/department training and meetings.
  • Attend Safety Training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department safety, and job-related hazards.
  • Demonstrate respect for clients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field with equivalent experience working with behaviorally disordered/emotionally disturbed children and/or adolescents.
  • Previous work experience preferred.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Orientation including CPR, first aid, and Safety Care completion required.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance meeting Rhode Island minimum standards required.

Salary:

$45,000 - $55,000 per year
