About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Compassionate Patient Care Specialist to join our team at The University of Vermont Health Network. As a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) / Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to work as a floating team member, supporting various departments within the hospital as needed. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care to assigned patients in conformance with Nursing Department Policies, Standards of Practice, physician orders, and approved plans of care.
  • Promote effective communication of patients' status, changes in condition, and needs with licensed nurses.
  • Function within Nursing Department and CVMC/WDR policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a 75-hour Nursing Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program.
  • Registration in the State of Vermont as a Licensed Nursing Assistant.
  • Minimum one year of Licensed Nursing Assistant experience, required for the Resource Pool.
  • Minimum of one year experience in an acute care facility preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic nursing care skills.
  • Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) and Pro-Act certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS certification.
