About the Role

Job Summary

The Nights Cheese Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our cheese packaging line during night shifts. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Removing Press Plates from Barrels: Safely remove press plates from barrels to facilitate cleaning and maintenance.
  • Recording Barrel Weights: Accurately record barrel weights on each line to ensure accurate tracking and inventory management.
  • Labeling and Quality Control: Apply labeling as required by customers and ensure labels accurately reflect product information.
  • Monitoring Equipment: Regularly monitor empty dolly conveyors and dolly pickers to prevent downtime and optimize production.
  • Segregating Sample Barrels: Ensure sample barrels are properly segregated and handled according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Cheese Liner Sealing: Operate vacuum sealers to seal cheese liners in accordance with SOPs.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of barrel counts and press plate counts to prevent errors and discrepancies.
  • Paperwork and Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records as required.
  • Sampling and Testing: Take samples in accordance with SOPs and perform tests as needed to ensure product quality.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Collaborate with the tower deck operator on the scale during cheese changeovers and prepare carts for receiving cheese.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Assist in fetching and sanitizing press plates and maintaining equipment cleanliness.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Dependability and Trustworthiness: Must be dependable and trustworthy, with regular and timely attendance required.
  • Computer Experience: Helpful experience with computers and ability to learn new software and systems.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift, lift up to 60 pounds, and operate necessary equipment.
  • Literacy and Communication: Ability to read and write instructions in English and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Safety Record: Excellent safety record required, with ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary of $20.50 per hour and opportunities for overtime pay. Additionally, you will have access to a bonus program and weekly pay schedules.
