Job Overview

TotalMed is seeking an experienced Advanced Ambulatory Care Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in outpatient settings.

About the Role

In this critical role, you will assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for patients in the ambulatory care unit. You will also collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless care delivery and promote optimal recovery and wellness for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the ambulatory care unit, including pre-operative, post-operative, and procedural care.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and medication reconciliation, to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
  • Administer medications, perform wound care, and assist with procedures as directed by healthcare providers in the ambulatory care setting.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating patient preferences and goals.
  • Educate patients and families on post-procedure care instructions, medication management, and symptom recognition to promote optimal recovery and wellness in the ambulatory care setting.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A current RN license
  • BLS (other certifications as required by facility)
  • 2 years of recent Ambulatory Care Unit experience
  • Strong communication and adaptability skills
