Job Title: Trauma Data Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Trauma Data Specialist to join the Vibrus Group team. This is a full-time position that requires 20 hours of work per week.

About the Role:

The Trauma Data Specialist will be responsible for identifying and reviewing potential trauma cases for inclusion in the registry. They will abstract, code, and apply all trauma data elements in the registry, primarily from inpatient trauma cases. This includes pre-hospital, emergency room, and inpatient episodes, as well as autopsy reports. The specialist will review trauma admission records for data collection and abstraction, compile trauma registry data as required by ACS, and present information at quarterly institutional meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and review potential trauma cases for inclusion in the registry
  • Abstract, code, and apply all trauma data elements in the registry

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in trauma registry, ICD-10, Cerner, and trauma base trauma registry
  • An Associate Degree in Health Information Technology/Management or completion of a correspondence course sponsored by the American Health Information Management Association
  • OR commensurate trauma registry experience (i.e., American Trauma Society (ATS) Registry Course and/or Abbreviated Injury Severity (AIS) Scoring Course)
Certifications/Licenses Required:

Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is required. Alternatively, verification of completion of the American Trauma Society (ATS) Trauma Registrar Course and/or AIS Scoring Course is acceptable.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
