Cook Position at Cedar Creek of Marion

Cedar Creek of Marion, a regional healthcare provider, seeks a skilled Cook to join our team. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing a top-notch dining experience for our residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve high-quality meals in accordance with standardized recipes and menu cycles.
  • Taste and prepare food to ensure quality and presentation.
  • Coordinate meal production with serving hours and determine food and supplies needed.
  • Assist with proper documentation of temperature logs, taste panel forms, and cleaning schedules.
  • Train new kitchen staff and maintain a safe and clean kitchen environment.
  • Practice all safety and loss prevention procedures and maintain safety standards as outlined by Cedarhurst guidelines for infection control.
  • Utilize basic mathematical concepts to practical situations and maintain appropriate food temperatures.
  • Remain current and up to date with all food safety licensing requirements and ensure all guidelines are adhered to.
  • Communicate effectively with community staff and residents' families concerning residents' care.
  • Work well with others and take direction from management, as well as take initiative with conflict intervention and resolution.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and previous experience.
  • At least one (1) year's experience as a cook preferred.
  • Applicable state/county licensure.
  • Food Manager Certification required, or ability to obtain.
  • CPR or BLS certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Internet browsers, Microsoft Office programs, and electronic health records systems.
