About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Calibration Specialist to join our team at Copeland. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of our measurement equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform gage calibration on basic and advanced inspection equipment to ensure compliance with established calibration intervals.
  • Conduct gage calibration in accordance with established Calibration Procedures, utilizing high precision/accuracy measuring instruments.
  • Make necessary adjustments, including minor repairs, to bring gages into conformance with certification standards.
  • Document calibration results, maintaining accurate and complete records of each gage certification.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Fabrication, Assembly, and Inspection personnel.
  • Assist in analysis of shop floor data, preparing spreadsheet reports on findings.
  • Perform technical investigations and fixing tasks assigned by the Department Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to establish inspection methods, procedures, and Operation Sheets.
  • Plan, perform, and accomplish Machine/Process Capability studies and Gauge R&R studies.
  • Design and establish special gauging, fixtures, and adapters to support and improve the measuring system.
  • Assist in maintaining the Gage Talker data collection system SPC network files and make program changes when required.
  • Support the Quality Engineers in the development of Process Control Plans and prevention-based programs.
Requirements
  • Understanding of SPC methodologies and techniques.
  • Ability to perform or assist in Machine/Process Capability studies and Gage R&R studies.
  • Knowledge of ASTM, ANSI, ASME, SAE, and ASCO engineering specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of all measurement equipment & gages (CMM, Axis Optical Comparator).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to research and comprehend various standards and engineering specifications.
  • Effective communication skills with all personnel in the facility.
  • Act with utmost integrity, professionalism, and positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Advanced blue print reading.
  • Metrology.
Working Environment
  • Exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements, including noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease.
  • PPE's will be required, including safety glasses, ear plugs, and/or safety shoes.
  • May be required to work at different workstations as determined by business needs.
