Buehler, a leading manufacturer of scientific equipment and supplies, is seeking a skilled Sourcing Specialist to manage key supplier relationships and drive strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the overall relationship between Buehler and its key suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving value creation through strategic sourcing projects.
- Implement innovative sourcing strategies to achieve annual savings targets, leveraging techniques such as VA/VE, improved manufacturability, new technology, and alternative suppliers.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Product Management, and Corporate Sourcing Team to identify, evaluate, and approve new and alternate suppliers.
- Strategize with Purchasing Manager and stakeholders to award business in support of Buehler's cost savings, inventory management, delivery, and quality targets.
- Conduct regular supplier visits and establish strong relationships with 80's and strategic partners, managing the supplier database effectively.
- Oversee the annual Supplier Performance Scorecard process, analyzing data and communicating results to suppliers in conjunction with the Supply Chain team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in purchasing/procurement positions within a manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with all levels of management and cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to develop robust business relationships with key suppliers.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Prior experience in low-volume, high-mix electromechanical manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience with Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) and abrasive grinding products is also beneficial.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
The estimated salary for this role is $82,500, based on national averages and industry standards. The total compensation package includes additional benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. For Seattle residents, the base salary ranges from $75,000 to $90,000, with pay adjustments possible based on individual factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
