Job Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care equipment, ensuring compliance with established standards.
  • Manage all assigned equipment and schedule service to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for pre-acceptance inspections and PM schedules, keeping files up-to-date and accurate.
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated and working properly within established intervals, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Respond promptly to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns, providing timely solutions to ensure continuity of care.
  • Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working within budget parameters to minimize costs.
  • Maintain purchase order logs and validate invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Provide informal training to equipment users and Crothall Services Group staff as requested or when circumstances dictate, promoting knowledge sharing and expertise development.
  • Recommend service strategies to Department Managers regarding equipment, keeping them informed of activities, needs, and problems.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement/Risk Management programs, understanding customer issues and concerns, and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain an orderly and functional work environment, adhering to department practices and policies.
  • Provide emergency on-call responsibilities as needed, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to our patients' needs.
  • Document significant asset-related actions in compliance with department practices, ensuring transparency and accountability.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Equipment Specialist - Field Service Professional who can demonstrate:

A minimum of 3 years of experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.An Associate degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently with some supervision.Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.A working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and producing reports on assets.Good trouble-shooting skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.Ability and willingness to serve on-call duty as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
