The Clinical Nurse is responsible for assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing, and managing the needs of assigned patients throughout their care journey, with a focus on facilitating progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care environment. This role involves the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring that competent and compassionate care is consistently delivered to all stakeholders, including referring facilities, hospital staff, and patients across inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
Hourly Range: $60.93
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implementing physician orders, administering medications, initiating IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documenting care as required by company policy and local/state/federal regulations.
- Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assessing and evaluating patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Providing primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administering over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborating with the nursing team to develop a comprehensive Plan of Care for all patients.
- Directing and guiding ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained and maintained.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience is required.
- At least 1 year of Telemetry or ICU experience is required.
- Ability to enhance job performance through ongoing education.
- Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, with the ability to apply them in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
