Trauma Data Specialist

Geisinger Health System seeks a skilled Trauma Registrar to collect and maintain physiological and anatomical data on trauma patients admitted to the hospital. This role is responsible for abstracting data from medical records, maintaining trauma data using the Collector System, and preparing monthly reports for the Trauma Center Committee.
Key Responsibilities- Abstract data from medical records according to the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation requirements
- Maintain trauma data using the Collector System
- Prepare monthly reports for the Trauma Center Committee
- Perform quality reviews on an alternating basis
- Assist with updating procedures on a yearly basis and develop new procedures as necessary
- Interpret study requests and access information from the computerized trauma data base for physicians or others
- Download trauma information for electronic transfer of data to designated systems
- Prepare reports as requested for the Trauma Program Coordinator, Trauma Director, or Supervisor of Registries
- Enter reservations into Chart Reserve for required records and scan records out to appropriate locations
- Perform training for new personnel in Trauma Registry
- Assist Information Technology personnel and Tri-Analytic personnel with problem solving for the Collector System
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Certification(s) and License(s) as required
