Pharmacy Operations Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Walgreens. As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of prescription dispensing, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including the operation of pharmacy systems, the retrieval and counting of pharmaceutical drugs, and the verification of medication accuracy.
  
• Process prescriptions, including entering patient and drug information, and ensuring the accuracy of medication dispensing.
  
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, including greeting and assisting them with products and services, resolving customer issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  
• Assist in the coordination of clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients, and other clinical services as required.
  
• Develop and maintain good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, by medical provider detailing and outreach to health groups, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities.
  

Requirements:

• 
  
• PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 
  
• Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  
• Prefer basic math skills (counting, measuring and weighing medications).
  
• Prefer basic level PC skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents and/or access information on-line).
  
• Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
