About the Opportunity

Ocean Optics is seeking a highly skilled Applications Engineer to join our team. As an Applications Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping our customers solve complex problems using spectroscopic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with sales force to understand customer application needs and recommend the best product configuration
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions options and product specifications for OEM customers
  • Engage with existing and potential customers to identify their needs and propose solutions
  • Support qualification testing of new products at customer sites
  • Accurately record customer issues and document resolutions
  • Identify opportunities for product and solution improvement and influence design/product requirements
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of customers, competitors, and market products and solutions offered

About the Candidate

We are looking for a self-starter with a natural curiosity and passion for problem-solving. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a technical field, extensive experience in Applications Engineering, and a strong understanding of spectroscopic principles.

Key Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in Applications Engineering
  • Deep knowledge of spectroscopic principles
  • Expertise in one or more technical areas: chemistry, biochemistry, optics, or engineering disciplines
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a record of delivering successful designs on schedule
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Approachable and able to connect with people
  • Strong initiative, work ethic, and enthusiasm
