Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for performing all duties of Phlebotomist Tech II, including routine blood collection on all age groups, including neonates and infants. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to function in specimen processing and receiving area of the Laboratory. Additionally, they will provide care appropriate to the age of the patients in assigned area and demonstrate competency in registration of patients and specimens.

Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of one (1) year of phlebotomy experience with all age groups is required.
- Phlebotomy certification with a national agency is required and must be kept current and active.

Preferred Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to interact successfully with patients, staff, and other healthcare providers.
- They will also have demonstrated ability to handle customer service questions and effective communication skills.
- Familiarity with relevant computer skills, such as patient ID system and specimen processing functions, is preferred.
