About the Role:

The University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a highly skilled Marketing Coordinator Assistant to join its Auxiliary Enterprises team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in monitoring the online and offline brand presence of UMass Auxiliary Enterprises, including Hotel UMass, UMass Dining, UMass Catering, University Club and Restaurant, UMass Events & Conference Services, and Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation and execution of strategic brand partnerships.
  • Assemble reports for senior leadership, pulling information from various databases.
  • Assist in planning, implementation, and execution of Auxiliary Enterprises long- and short-term marketing strategies.
  • Utilize public relations to promote programs aimed at increasing awareness about UMass Auxiliary Enterprises.
  • Work closely with contracted graphic designers and printers to ensure brand image and messaging consistency.
  • Develop graphic design elements, including flyers, posters, banners, patches, screens, and more.
  • Utilize market research, surveys, and social media analytics to create metrics for social media reporting.
  • Produce and update AE websites and app.
  • Develop email campaigns and blogs.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of the annual Tastes of the World: Chef Culinary Conference.
  • Produce various media, including video, creative copy, photographs, and digital image manipulation.
  • Assist in the coordination of the annual 5K Dash & Dine at UMass Amherst.
  • Update Digital Signage Boards as needed.
  • Assist in securing regional, national, and international awards/grants and track deadlines.
  • Coordinate and attend events outside of regular business hours to increase UMass Dining exposure.
  • Support all aspects of the social media efforts of the department.

Requirements:

  • Excellent team building, relationship building, time management, decision making, and networking skills.
  • Skills in application of the principles and practices of effective supervision.
  • Knowledge of Canva, Animoto, Biteable, Adobe Suites, and iMovie.
  • Strong oral and written communication, problem solving, analytical, and quantitative reasoning skills.
  • Proven experience working with long-term vendor relationships.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, graphic layout designs, and relevant technology.
  • Experience supporting the development and execution of new market strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable working with short deadlines in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in organizing multiple simultaneous projects.

Working Conditions:

This is a temporary, non-benefited position. The shift will vary based on department needs and may include weekends and holidays. The salary is $25/hour.
