We are seeking experienced adjunct professors to join our faculty in the Department of Psychology. This is a part-time, non-tenure track position teaching psychology courses.


About the Position:


This part-time faculty position offers the opportunity to teach psychology courses at Columbia State Community College's five campus locations.


Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and teach psychology courses as assigned, adhering to departmental course syllabi and course minimum student learning outcomes.
  • Begin and end classes as scheduled, maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning.
  • Organize, assign, and supervise learning activities of students in classes, evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance/participating and grades, reading and responding to student questions via email in a timely manner.
  • Meet deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, student enrollment.

Requirements:



  • A Master's degree in Psychology (or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology).
  • Teaching experience in psychology courses.
  • Higher education experience.

Salary and Benefits:


The salary for this position is $545 per credit hour, with the possibility of workload adjustments for faculty teaching classes where the number of contact hours exceeds the number of credit hours. A travel stipend may be negotiated at time of hire for faculty traveling more than 80 miles each week to teach classes. For part-time faculty who continue to work at Columbia State, salary is based on collegiate level teaching experience documented during the first semester of teaching.
