Job Title: Security Officer

Corning is a leading technology company that is shaping the world through innovation. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Officer to join our team.

The Security Officer will play a critical role in protecting the people, property, and values of Corning Incorporated. The successful candidate will be responsible for observing, detecting, deterring, and reporting security-related incidents that pose potential risks and threats to company assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide local site physical security through means of patrols, access control, and monitoring
  • Respond to and assist in emergency situations, including fire, medical, and hazardous material incidents
  • Communicate directly with Corning employees as a primary first-contact/first-report for all questions and concerns pertaining to security
  • Provide documentation and notification of daily activity and incidents
  • Shift work and the flexibility to work various hours, as well as a willingness to work unscheduled overtime as required
Requirements:
  • High School diploma / GED and two or more years of experience in a professional setting
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a valid state security guard license with the support of Corning Incorporated (if applicable)
  • Ability to obtain CPR and basic First Aid certifications with the support of Corning Incorporated
  • Ability to work as a part of a team in a professional setting
  • Aptitude for clear and effective verbal and written communication under time-sensitive conditions
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to work with various computer programs based on provided training
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree, or;
  • Experience in security or a related field

Corning Global Security is committed to the growth and development of its staff at all levels. Development opportunities may include on the job training, virtual learning, classroom based training, or formal education.

This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $34,511.00 - $47,453.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
