Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Installation Specialist to join our team at M.C. Dean, Inc. in the DC Metro Area. As an Electronics Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining electronic security systems, performing preventive maintenance requirements, and conducting inspections, evaluations, and inventory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead teams on small to moderately complex installation projects
  • Conduct and document daily tool box talks
  • Install all head end equipment at both the local and global level per design packages
  • Program head end equipment for Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV systems
  • Troubleshoot and isolate both systems and/or hardware at both a local and global level
  • Provide on-site software commissioning and testing
  • Perform inspections, evaluations, and inventory
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Requires ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle; selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with our policy
  • Education: HS diploma or GED, Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours), or graduation from an accredited Electronics Technician program or Electrical Apprenticeship program
  • 6+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs
  • 3+ years of experience must be focused in electronic security systems
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • This position may require travel and availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
Desired Qualifications
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems
  • Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, Aiphone Intercom Systems AIphone, CCURE, Genetec, Zenitel, Windows operating systems & certifications and experience in installation of said systems
Abilities
  • Lifts at least 100 pounds for an extended period of time
  • Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis
  • Possesses good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
  • See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
