Job Title: Medical Director of Psychiatry Residency

About the Role:

  • Maintain ACGME Accreditation by reviewing and adhering to program requirements, conducting annual evaluations, and engaging in continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Lead the recruitment and selection process for trainees while ensuring compliance with RRC and University of Rochester policies.
  • Develop and implement a resident evaluation program that includes competency- and milestone-based assessments, Clinical Competency Committee maintenance, and reporting on milestone progress as required by RRC.
  • Foster faculty growth through interviewing, performance reviews, and engagement in faculty development initiatives.
  • Administer the program within the Department of Psychiatry and University of Rochester, including GMEC, ACGME institutional requirements, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the institutional learning environment.
  • Evaluate and improve the program through maintenance of a program evaluation committee and reporting required information through Web-ADS.
  • Ensure a positive clinical learning environment emphasizing Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, Healthcare disparities, Teamwork, Interprofessionalism, Professionalism, Supervision, and Wellness.

Requirements:

  • Board certification in general psychiatry.
  • Eligibility for an unrestricted NYS medical license.
  • At least three years of experience in psychiatry education program leadership, administration, and teaching in an ACGME-accredited training program.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence, which may include innovative educational program development, excellence in teaching, clinical leadership, or research.
  • Strong communication skills and leadership capability.
  • A track record of excellence in educational and academic endeavors.
  • Evidence of commitment to diversity, equity, inclusivity, and excellence, particularly in mentoring learners from historically marginalized backgrounds.

Estimated Salary Range: $250,000 - $350,000 per year
