About the Role: MDstaffers is currently seeking a qualified Psychiatrist to work in Soledad, CA. Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Psychiatrist to provide direct patient psychiatric services to mentally ill inmates/wards under the direction of the Chief Psychiatrist. The successful candidate will conduct initial mental health evaluations, clinically sound suicide risk evaluations, and monitor progress using Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan, and Education (SOAPE). Additionally, they will identify relevant signs and symptoms of medical/psychological disorders to comprehensively diagnose, assess, and manage.

Responsibilities:

  • • Conduct face-to-face interviews with mentally ill patients
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations including criminal, psychiatric, and substance abuse case history to assess needs and treatment options
  • Conduct clinically sound suicide risk evaluations
  • Monitor progress using SOAPE
  • Identify relevant signs and symptoms of medical/psychological disorders to comprehensively diagnose, assess, and manage
  • Prescribe medication as deemed appropriate for treatment

Qualifications: To be considered for this role, applicants must have a minimum of twelve continuous months of experience within the last three years, be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry, hold a valid California medical license, have an active, unrestricted DEA, and possess current BLS.
