Medication Specialist

Easterseals Iowa is seeking a highly skilled Medication Manager to join our team. As a Medication Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our campers.
Key Responsibilities- Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to manage and administer medications to campers.
- Perform inventory, organize, and administer medications checked into the health center.
- Assist with entering medication records into the database, completing documentation, and making phone calls to guardians and caregivers.
- Organize cabin medication records and binders.
- Provide first aid to campers and team members.
- Keep the health center clean and organized.
- Assist team members as needed to ensure compliance with Easterseals' protocol.
- Acquire working knowledge of each camper's medication administration record and understand the desired effects, side effects, and undesired effects of medications.
- Understand, follow, and work to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
- Assist team members in ensuring that all documentation is completed in accordance with the program's protocol.
- Must be 18 years of age at time of employment.
- High School diploma or equivalency preferred.
- Certification in approved medication management course.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance.
- Ability to collaborate cooperatively with direct supervisor and other team members.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift.
- Ability to transfer or move a minimum of eighty pounds.
- Ability to pass CPR (Adult and Child), First Aid within first 90 days.
- Ability to successfully complete Mandatory Reporter of Child and Dependent Adult Abuse within first 30 days.
- Ability to safely pass medications in accordance with the Easterseals Medication Administration policy.
- Insurable under Easterseals insurance policy.
- Access to Reliable Transportation for regular participation in work.
